Kamerah Description
Modern mobile devices and even laptops are fitted with powerful cameras, and it’s now incredibly easy to record yourself or other activities in front of the camera. Needless to say that an appropriate application is required to capture streams, provide feedback, and eventually convert to a video file, and this is exactly where Kamerah comes in handy.
Feedback instantly delivered
You’re offered to have the application launched as soon as the last step of the installer closes, so you can quickly see what it’s all about. A pretty compact window shows up, and instantly shows the preview of the webcam. Needless to say that your webcam needs to be connected and functional.
The entire operation is pretty straightforward, and merely requires you to hit the record button and perform your activities. A browse dialog shows up as soon as you press record, with the file saved to the specified location once the recording stops. There are also other settings you might want to go through before starting your first recording.
Set default webcam and quality settings
On the bright side of things, the application provides quick access to the default set of webcam configuration options, letting you adjust color settings, and choose a different device if multiple ones are connected.
Sadly, recording is only possible under a single file format, namely AVI. However, you have the possibility to adjust compression level, quality, whether to enable key frame, and more. Output size generally depends on your webcam manufacturing options, but you can choose from different resolution sets if they’re supported, as well as the pixel depth and compression level.
On an ending note
All things considered, we can state that Kamerah is a pretty lightweight webcam recording tool, and even though it’s not fitted with an abundance of features, it does come in handy in capturing instant moments, with a decent variety of quality options to configure. However, it could have used at least a small set of filters and effects to apply.
