Keyboard Background Piano Description
Nothing compares to listening to a live performance with live instruments, or composing music the good old fashioned way. However, the PC is also capable of creating an abundance of sounds, and even Windows comes with an impressive variety of MIDI samples. For a fun way to practice without an instrument, or simply random noise when typing, Keyboard Background Piano is what you need.
Can be used on the go
Since it requires no installation in order to properly function, the application can run right after download is finished, and carried around on a thumb drive to be used on other PC’s as well. However, the target PC needs to be equipped with .NET Framework for things to work out, but don’t worry, system registries are not modified while using the application.
A pretty compact main window shows up when the application launches, with a keyboard, couple of sliders, and some other dedicated controls you can handle. Just as the name suggests, the application produces sound for almost every keyboard button you press, but you can also interact with the one in the main window through the mouse.
A different sound for every button you press
On the bright side, the application relies on the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth library of MIDI sounds, which provides more than enough options to keep you busy for quite some time. However, you can switch to a different input device, even external, simply by accessing the dedicated device menu.
Volume can be adjusted so that sounds don’t overlap anything else, or become too annoying while you type. Moreover, there’s an additional pitch range slider which either compacts, or expands the sound range for more higher, and lower pitches. Sadly, you can’t configure keys yourself, nor record through any built-in functions.
On an ending note
In conclusion, Keyboard Background Piano isn’t necessarily a learning utility, but can be used in accordance with information to get an idea of how to play a piano. If not used for learning, it can sure be fun to have a different sound effect trigger whenever you press a button on your keyboard, especially when trying to write a message.
