Layer Filter Description
The Layer Filter for VirtualDub will allow you to layer the frames with an image and combine them in some way. You can control whether the frame or the image is on top or bottom, the opacity of the top layer, and the blend method.
Blend Method:
This is the method that the bottom layer is merged into the top layer.
Layer on top:
If this is checked, then the layer image is the top layer. If this is unchecked, then the frame is the top layer.
Layer color:
This is the color of the background of the layer image.
Extra 1 / Extra 2:
Some blend methods may take special parameters. This is where you enter the information for those blend methods.
Layer Image:
This is the layer image itself, if you choose to provide one.
Left Offset / Bottom Offset:
This is the offset that the layer image is placed
Control Image:
You can optionally choose to use a control image to specify where the layer effect is turned on and off at. If the color value of the pixel in the control image is less than 128, then the layer effect is turned off and the frame pixel is copied to the destination. If the
color value for a pixel is 128 or greater, then the layer effect is turned on. It is best to use a black and white image for this. The black areas will be turned off and the white areas will be turned on.
Left Offset / Bottom Offset:
This is the offset that the control image is placed
Default On (On outside of image boundaries):
If this is checked, then the layer effect is on outside of the control image boundaries. If this is unchecked, then the layer effect is off outside the control image
boundaries.
Top Layer Opacity:
This specifies the opacity of the top layer. (How visible the top layer is)System requirementsVirtualDub
