LL2MP3

LL2MP3 is a small software application designed with a single goal in mind: to help users convert FLAC, APE and WAV files to MP3 format. The entire conversion process is accomplished with the use of external codecs which have to be installed on your local hard drive, otherwise you are not able to convert the files.
Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that LL2MP3 doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry. You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you want to convert different audio files.
It sports a simplistic interface that allows users to add the audio files to the list by using only the “drag and drop” support, so you cannot rely on the browse function.
Once you have done so, the program automatically starts the conversion process. If the selected audio songs contain ID3 tags (e.g. title, artist, album), these are copied to the converted files. It is possible to select a default saving directory where the encoded items should be stored.
Additionally, you can make the program display a cue, tag and error list, as well as remain on top of other applications. It is important to mention that hotkeys are also available for a better control of the entire process, but they cannot be reassigned.
Plus, you can choose between five different preset encoding options to determine the quality and size of the MP3 files, or configure these parameters on your own.
The program carries out the conversion process pretty quickly, but if it doesn’t find the necessary codecs, you have to manually browse the computer for the missing ones, let the application perform searches on the local hard drive, or download them from the Internet.
Although it may seem easy to work with this tool at a first glance, it is not, and rookies may spend some time trying to configure the dedicated parameters.
All in all, LL2MP3 offers very good sound quality but it still needs some improvements to make the conversion process more intuitive.
