M3U COPiER Description
Media players usually let you build playlists, which are simple files containing paths of files they play. Management of playlist content is possible through your preferred player, but there are also some alternatives. For instance, M3U COPiER is a lightweight tool with which to copy the content of a playlist to a different location.
Only works with M3U playlists
You first need to go through a setup process for the application to function. Note, however, that .NET Framework 1.1 is required, with the installer providing a download link in case it’s not already on your computer.
The main window quickly shows up on launch. Accommodation is nothing to worry about because of the clean interface, structured in several sections to help view files you want to process, and additional details which make the whole experience pretty comfortable.
Just like the name clearly points out, the only file types you’re able to work with are M3U playlists, which are pretty popular, being generated and used by an abundance of multimedia players. These need to be dropped over the target section, with the possibility to include more files in the process.
Straightforward copy operation
Unfortunately, the application doesn’t show content of playlists, so all files inside are processed. For the operation to be successful and to even start in the first place, you need to set a save location, which can even be a portable music player for more comfort. Sadly, there’s no option to copy the playlist file along with target items.
Before running the process, it’s possible to determine the renaming method. This isn’t a thorough operation though, with an extra option which renames files so they’re arranged and read better by mobile devices. Files inside the playlist are not moved, but only copied, with no option to change this, or have original ones removed.
In conclusion
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that M3U COPiER is a rather straightforward application with which to copy the content of one or more playlists to a local or removable storage device, making it a suitable tool for extending your music library on portable players.
