MackBrowser Description
MackBrowser is a lightweight web browser whose purpose is to help rookies navigate on the Internet using a basic set of tools.
Store it on portable devices
This is a portable application which makes it the perfect candidate for being stored on USB flash drives or other portable devices. Gaining access to its features requires only opening the executable file. You may uninstall it via a simple deletion task, as it leaves no traces in your Windows registry.
Simplistic looks
MackBrowser reveals a clean and straightforward design that embeds all available browsing controls in the main panel. You cannot find a help manual included in the package but the configuration settings look easy to decode so you can tweak them on your own.
Limited web browsing capabilities
The utility gives you the possibility to explore the web content with only a few options. You can input a custom URL (you cannot perform searches directly from the address bar), go backward or forward, refresh the current webpage, and stop the loading process.
We have tested MackBrowser on Windows 8.1 Pro and noticed that it does not load webpages very quickly. It is not quite friendly with system resources so the overall performance of the computer may be affected.
There’s no support for advanced features so professionals may be disappointed by MackBrowser’s poor configuration settings. You are not allowed to browse in a multi-tabbed environment, sync data across multiple devices, create bookmarks, work with a download manager, view a list with accessed websites, browse on the Internet using private sessions, delete cookies, install plugins, set the homepage and search engine, and save passwords, just to highlight some options that make the web browsing experience efficient, smooth, and secure.
Bottom line
To sum things up, MackBrowser is still in kindergarten and needs several improvements in terms of design and functionality before it can be called a reliable web browser.
