Computer customization can take time, but this is only because of the abundance of resources, and areas which can benefit from visual, and functional enhancements. Rainmeter is a powerful host of skins, and in this regard, MagazinelikeSUITE provides a decent set of information tools, and quick access links to predefined, or custom locations.
Deployment doesn’t take a lot of time, with the skin manager being the main way to enable skin elements. These can mean battery, data rate, date, drive, gallery view, launcher, media player, notes, recycle bin, and computer uptime.
Battery brings up a small indicator, which as the name suggests, provides related info on power source, and remaining battery when unplugged. Additionally, CPU and RAM meters are shown in percentage.
DataRate is used to monitor network activity. In a two-row panel, provided details show upload, and download rate, with an additional line which shows the IP address, and whether the connection is active.
Needless to say that Date shows clock and calendar. However, built-in variants allow the selection of either a 12 or 24 hour clock, as well as Fahrenheit, or Celsius for temperature, summing up to a total of four variants.
Drive doesn’t provide access to any specific disk drive, but only shows usage. Available variants can be enabled either for the C, D, or E drive.
A picture slideshow can be enabled through the GalleryView component. However, it’s best to pay a visit to the configuration file to specify the source of the pictures.
A launcher component provides up to seven different customizable slots. Some preset locations are already filled in, but the INI settings file can be modified with custom entries.
In case iTunes is the preferred media player, a related component can be used to manage playback, and scroll through song collection.
Notes brings up a small notepad. All editing is done in a plain text file, with every line appearing after a few seconds.
The RecycleBin shows how much space is used for no reason by deleted elements. At the press of a button, content can be cleared to free it up.
If the computer is constantly running, UPTime shows for how many days, hours, and minutes the PC is active. Additionally, quick options can be used to enable Standby, Restart the system, or Shutdown.System requirementsRainmeter
