Windows provides enough freedom, and flexibility when it comes to customizing the workspace. However, a lot more can be achieved with the help of third-party applications like Rainmeter, specialized in desktop aesthetics. Related to it are various skins, just like Neuroph which adds a desktop object to show date and time.
The package is pretty lightweight, and contains the means to install it through Rainmeter, which is a mandatory requirement for functionality. Once integrated, it can be enabled as a skin, with only two variations to provide a light, or dark theme.
Once on the desktop, it benefits from all default behavior, and aesthetic settings. Among others, this can mean ignoring mouse movement to be able to interact with colliding desktop elements, snap to edges, set transparency level, position, mouse hover action, or save position to show up in the same spot when launched later on.
All information fields are bundled together in an urban style display, with rough characters which seem to be affected by time. Clock ticks in real time, the current date is shown, as well as CPU, RAM, HDD, and power usage.
