Mail Password Recovery Description

As its name implies, Mail Password Recovery is a simple application designed to help you retrieve lost of forgotten passwords for your email accounts.
The program is only compatible with POP3 accounts and desktop email clients that have the login credentials stored on your computer, such as Outlook Express, Eudora OSE or The Bat!. Therefore, it does not work with web-based email services, such as Yahoo, Hotmail, MSN or AOL.
The main window is simplistic, displaying a list of the last detected passwords and a complete step-by-step guide to assist you in using the application and configuring the target email client. What this program actually does is to emulate a local POP server and connect to the email application in order to extract the account password.
In order to make it work, you have to configure the mail client, so that it accesses Mail Password Recovery, instead of the initial POP server. You can do this by opening the ‘Properties’ section for each account and modifying the current POP3 server to 127.0.0.1.
When sending a new message, the email client hands over the password to Mail Password Recovery, which displays it in its main window. Once the password is retrieved, don’t forget to change back the POP3 server details, or else the email client is not going to work properly.
Some users might find this application difficult to use, especially since they have to deal with account configuration. Furthermore, it only works with email clients that store the login credentials on the local computer.
If you set up your email account, configured the email client to save the password and forgot about it, Mail Password Recovery might really come in handy. And since it comes without a price tag, it is definitely worth a try.
