UnAward is a BIOS password tool designed to help you unlock your computer when you are having trouble remembering the correct keyphrase. Whether you havenâ€™t used the computer for a long time and forgot the password or someone has set one without your knowledge, this tool can help.
For a long time, BIOS passwords were frequently used to protect the computers from unauthorized access. Since the BIOS needs to be accessed in order to load the operating system, this method was popular regardless of the OS version or hardware configuration.
Unfortunately, recovering a forgotten BIOS password can be a painful task even for experienced computer users. The methods available on the Internet range from dealing with motherboard switches to running various programs that are able to reset the password.
If you are not willing to go â€œunder the hoodâ€ and prefer the software approach, this tool allows you to detect the password in order to reset it. Even if is sounds easy, the tool usage is not that straightforward since it does not include any documentation or instructions.
You can run the program in command line mode from a removable disk in order to scan the BIOS. It is able to detect the presence of both USER and ADMINISTRATOR passwords.
This application is designed to reset the password for Award BIOS which limits its usage to the motherboards that have this firmware. However, it could come in handy when you need to break into an older machine that you have not used in a while.
