MindSnow Description
Although you got an entire world of information at your fingertips when using a computer, there are high chances to get distracted from important activities, or lose your train of thoughts. Luckily, there are various specialized applications like MindSnow which aim to help you put your thoughts in order and focus on important stuff.
Perks of a portable app
One thing which needs to be pointed out first is the dependency for Java Runtime Environment, so be sure to install it if it’s not already on your PC. On the other hand, this also means that the program can run on more than just Windows operating systems, and since there’s no setup involved, you can leave it stored, and use it directly from a USB flash drive.
The application is packed with a variety of preset examples of all kinds just to get you started and show what it can do for you. The idea behind the concept is to help your brain easily create connections between all words you see on the screen, plunging towards the bottom of the window as if they are snowflakes.
Change word lists and background images
There’s no actual limit or restriction to the words you provide, and you can even create your own list as a TXT document. Additionally, you can simply include more words inside existing lists, and then save them to leave the original one intact. The simulation can be stopped and reset at any given moment.
A few background pictures can be selected by default, but there’s also the possibility to load anything you choose if it’s under formats like JPG, PNG, or BMP. Sadly, there’s no option to cycle through backgrounds at a regular interval.
A few last words
All things considered, we can state that MindSnow comes with good intentions, but your mind needs to be already in a heavy state of relaxation in order to process the words in front of you. It might, however, come in handy to youngsters, or in case you want to learn foreign languages.
