MiniGet

MiniGet is a small-sized download manager that can handle common data files and torrents. It includes few and useful features that should please all users who are looking to fetch files on the go, without having to configure complicated settings.
There is nothing special about the installation procedure, aside from the fact that MiniGet will automatically launch at system startup unless the option is deselected.
Its interface is represented by a regular window divided into two panels, for viewing and managing downloads, respectively for selecting tasks by type (stopped, active, completed).
The app supports Clipboard live monitoring tool for Internet Explorer, with user-defined file types. It is possible to create URL tasks by specifying the address, new name, saving location, referrer, total connections, and server authentication details if any.
Multiple jobs can be set for download, as long as the data source is the same website. Other tasks which can be triggered are for magnet links and torrent files. The computer can be scheduled to automatically power off when all downloading jobs are finished.
Once a task is done, MiniGet pops up a small panel on the bottom right corner of the screen and notifies its success while providing buttons for opening the file and its location. At any time it is possible to edit job properties.
Although not resourceful, MiniGet is actually a pretty reliable download manager. Its speed was great during our evaluation, CPU and RAM usage was low, and we have not come across any issues. Too bad it does not leave much room for customization. However, MiniGet is worth to be taken into account by any power user who's building a toolkit with straightforward web-based applications.
