MiniVol XP

Developed for the Yahoo! Widget Engine platform, MiniVol XP is a small tool that allows you to easily control the volume level of your system by showing its percentage on the screen. It can be easily installed and set up.
The interface of the widget is based on a very small frame that you can move to any position on the screen, with the help of the mouse cursor.
Aside from viewing the current volume percentage, you can increase or decrease it by clicking two arrows on the frame, as well as mute all sounds.
A few configuration settings are available through the Widget Preferences panel. Therefore, you can disable feedback sound, select the volume change increment and decrease the frame size. Unfortunately, you cannot change the colors.
Thanks to the default options provided by the Yahoo! Widget Engine, you can also set the frame to stay on top or below other windows, to ignore mouse events and to prevent dragging. Plus, you can set its opacity level to a preset value that ranges from 20% to 100%.
The widget does not put a strain on the system resources, as it uses a very low amount of CPU and memory. It has a good response time and works well, without causing the OS to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, first-time users can seamlessly work with MiniVol XP.
