MiTeC InfoBar Description
Desktop enhancements are small utilities that stick around to make certain tasks easier. MiTeC InfoBar is no exception, taking only a little of your workspace, providing detailed info instead.
Keeping you updated
One of the things that will have your eyes glued to the screen is the newsfeed bar. Constant side scrolling news headlines keep you up to date on events around the world. The default website can be changed in case you are interested in a particular domain.
Additionally, you can view weather forecasts from anywhere on the globe, useful if you are planning a trip.
More than just an info bar
The application gives you several more tools you can make use of. You can bring up a calendar that displays the day and week number, as well as upcoming astral events. Unfortunately, there is no implemented function that allows you to add an appointment or task.
On the other hand, you are able to pin an “Event Countdown†to the bar itself, but don't use it for important events because once it reaches zero, you are not announced.
Furthermore, for passionate programmers, a set of coding tools is available, as well as the ASCII table. A notepad and spreadsheet are also at your disposal, just in case you quickly need to write something down. However, info is only kept as long as the application is running, with no possibility to save to a file. Launching InfoBar again only brings up blank pages.
To end with
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that MiTeC InfoBar is only good to have around for information purpose only. It puts several other useful tools at your disposal, but limited functionality make them rather difficult to count on.
