ModelPie (formerly MrMTgui) Description
ModelPie is a lightweight interface for ModelTest and MrModeltest. The application is developed in Python/wxPython and is open-source. The program can be freely distributed. It is available for download on Windows, Linux, and MAC OS X.
In order to run the utility correctly, you need to install Python 2.4 or a higher version and wxPython 2.8.XÂ or a higher edition on the target computer.
You are offered the freedom to either run PAUP for ModelTest likelihood calculation or for MrModelTest (you need to make sure you do not have a PAUP block in your file as it might cause problems). If you opt for ModelTest, you may also use BIC calculations.
While the current model is being analyzed, the tool reveals a dialog with a progress bar indicating the current status of the task. In addition, you are allowed to save the scores files generated by PAUP. If you already possess your scores files, you can simply click on ‘Mr/ModelTest’ button, select the target file, and check out the results in the main textbox.
ModelPie cannot be distributed with PAUP, ModelTest, or MrModelTest, so you can only use these programs by creating a link to them. In order to enable ModelTest and MrModelTest areas displayed in the GUI, you need to set the paths to the target applications.System requirementsPython 2.4 or later
