MOV Cutter

MOV Cutter is a clear cut piece of software that helps you split your MOVs with great ease by simply selecting the start and end points to save the selection to your computer.
The design of the interface is outdated, closely resembling the classical one used in the Windows 98 or 95 operating system. Aside from that, the UI is highly intuitive, and thus enabling any type of person to work in the program without needing previous experience.
As the name of the application hints at, the only file format supported is MOV. The only way to select the start and end is by pushing the buttons with the same names. In order to increase accuracy when selecting these positions, the developers have integrated another button that enables you to go forward one frame at a time.
The main window also displays buttons that let you play, pause or stop the file, as well as “Play Selected”, a volume bar, and the exact video duration. MOV Cutter also lets you increase or decrease the speed of the movie, subtitles and even audio.
This software utility does not contain Help contents and the “drag and drop” feature is not supported. These can be considered drawbacks, as they might have helped novice users and the speed at which they can edit their videos, respectively.
All in all, MOV Cutter is an efficient program, seeing that you can easily cut MOV files and save them to the hard drive. However, the interface definitely requires more work.
