MultiRemote Server Description

MultiRemote Server is a small Windows application whose purpose is to help you connect to an Android device using the MultiRemote program.
It makes it possible to control the computer actions via your mobile phone. The server must be deployed on the target PC while the mobile version on your Android device.
This is a Java-based utility so you should previously install the working environment on your computer.

The advantages of being portable

The portable running mode gives you the freedom to bypass the installation process and open the tool by simply running the EXE file. It doesn’t store entries in your Windows registry and configuration data in your system.
You may copy it on a USB flash drive or other devices and run it on the target system without administrative privileges. You can uninstall it by deleting the files that you have grabbed from the Internet.

Simple looks

MultiRemote Server reveals a minimalistic layout that integrates only a few configuration settings. Although there’s no support for a help manual, the setup parameters are highly intuitive so you can decode their functions on the fly.

How it works

The application allows you to configure a connection to an Android device by providing details about the port number. In addition, you may view the current port number and a list with IP addresses.
What’s more, MultiRemote Server gives you the possibility to tweak several security features. You may create a list with authorized IP addresses if you want to prevent other users from accessing the tool, and check out a list with banned IPs.

Supported remote actions

The Android version of the utility makes use of keyboard shortcuts of the desktop applications so you need to enable hotkeys and set the shortcuts to default.
Upon a successful connection, you may perform several actions from your Android related to mouse gestures (scroll, vertical scroll, mouse movement, left and right clicks), and Windows Media Center (e.g. play, pause, stop, mute, record, go forward or backward).
Furthermore, you may control Power Point (e.g. left clicks, move between the slides, start or stop the presentation, lock), VLC (e.g. mute, activate the full screen mode, stop, play/pause), and Winamp (e.g. go backward, play, pause, stop).

An overall efficient utility

All in all, MultiRemote Server provides a straightforward software solution for establishing a connection between an Android device and computer, and controlling various desktop applications right from the mobile device.
