MyBar Description
Regardless of activities conducted on the computer, having quick access points to frequently used applications saves you some precious time. Specialized software like MyBar give you the possibility to create shortcuts to anything that comes in handy with the addition of an integrated music player for leisure purposes.
Place any shortcut in a toolbar
Running the application further enhances your desktop with a compact toolbar equipped with all available features. It can be moved around freely or kept docked. Unfortunately, you are only able to glue it to the upper centered part of the screen, with no possibility to set a default location.
The application is capable of storing up to 6 shortcuts of anything that is not a folder. This is only done through the provided selection screen, due to the unimplemented drag and drop function, that would have come in handy. However, take caution when assigning a program shortcut, because unless hitting the “Set†button, changes are not saved.
Straightforward with limited features
Other than options mentioned above, the application also puts a music player at your disposal to enjoy your favorite songs from the comfort of your desktop. It can be selected through the provided menu, but there is no integrated playlist manager or a list of any kind, restricting you to a single file.
You are able to export custom configurations to a file for later use, but there are not really many possibilities and loading each configuration through a file explorer gets a little time-consuming.
To end with
Taking everything into consideration, we can say the MyBar tries to enhance desktop accessibility, but does not really know how. Overall, the concept starts off good, with limited features keeping it from delivering the desired effect. It's only good to keep around in order to play a song from time to time.
