MyKeyGen

MyKeyGen is a tiny and portable application that you can use to generate random keys formed from numbers and lowercase letters. It may come in handy if you frequently change passwords to network connections or software applications, quickly running out of ideas.
Since installation is not a requirement, you can drop the executable file anywhere on the hard drive and run it immediately. It is also possible to move MyKeyGen to a USB flash drive or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any computer with minimum effort.
An important aspect worth mentioning is that portable utilities do not leave traces in the Windows Registry, Start menu or other areas of the computer, once you remove them.
The interface of MyKeyGen is based on a small, standard window with a plain and uncomplicated layout, where the WYSIWYG principle clearly applies, since there are no other options available, aside from the ones visible in the main frame.
All you have to do is specify the initial random number and total characters. Generating a key is done with the simple click of a button. Unfortunately, MyKeyGen does not provide buttons for copying the key to the Clipboard or exporting it to file (you can use the global Copy function via the context menu instead). On top of that, it cannot generate a list of multiple keys to spare you the trouble of repeating the process until acquiring the needed number of keys.
The tool is very light on the system resources, using a minimum quantity of CPU and memory. It generates keys rapidly and without errors. MyKeyGen did not hang or crash throughout our testing. Overall, the app serves its purpose but brings no special features to the table. For instance, it doesn't include symbols and uppercase letters in the charset, let alone give users the possibility of customizing it. We must also take into account that MyKeyGen has not been updated for a long time.
