MyPodPlayer is a lightweight and user-friendly application whose main purpose is to offer you the means of rendering the music pieces from your iPod on your PC, without having to resort to iTunes in order to do that.
Following a fairly rapid installation process, with no mentionable events, the program will launch automatically, on condition that it detects a compatible iPod device connected to your computer.
Bear in mind that the utility does not provide support for the latest models, so MyPodPlayer is an option for you only if your music playing device is of an older issue, newer ones not being recognized by the tool.
The main window displays the found songs, grouping them based on ‘Source’, ‘Genre’, ‘Artist’ and ‘Album’, similar to iTunes, allowing you to browse through all the items using your mouse scroll wheel.
The application lets you open a selected piece in the built-in music player, enabling you to listen to it on the spot. It offers all of the basic functions, such as ‘Next’, ‘Previous’, ‘Play/Pause’, also allowing you to adjust the volume of the song.
Moreover, MyPodPlayer features a ‘Search’ function that lets you input a keyword, regardless of its type, into the assigned field. The tool will then filter the entries to only display the ones matching your criteria, so you can render it with just a button press.
At the same time, the program is able to run minimized in the notification area, so as to interfere as little as possible with your regular activities. MyPodPlayer also provides you with a ‘Spectrum Analyzer’, which can be activated during your songs’ playtime.
