MZKillProcess Description
MZKillProcess is a feather-light piece of software capable of terminating any active process from the PowerShell environment quickly and easily. It features straightforward commands lines that can be operated even by users inexperienced with console tools.
Doesn't need installation
Since there's no setup required, you can copy the downloaded executable to a custom directory on the disk or transfer it to a pen drive to be able to seamlessly use it on any computer without setup.
Unlike many installed applications, this one doesn't insert new entries into the Windows registry. It doesn't need DLLs or other components to work, nor does it generate extra files or folders on the disk.
Terminate running processes quickly
To be able to work with this app, you must find out the process names of the programs you're attempting to stop if they're no longer responding to commands while keeping in mind that it's case sensitive. This means that you must correctly write the uppercase and lowercase letters.
No confirmation message is displayed to let you know whether the task succeeded or failed, so you have to manually check this by looking for the open windows.
An example is provided by the developer to help you understand the syntax, which requires you to type the process name and extension next to the app name. However, you should probably avoid testing it because it shuts down your computer (mzkillprocess calc.exe).
Evaluation and conclusion
The utility worked well on the latest edition of Windows in our tests, even if it hasn't been updated for a while. It executed tasks without error and didn't hang or crash.
Thanks to its straightforward syntax, MZKillProcess can be seamlessly used by anyone looking for an alternative method to terminate running processes than resorting to the Windows Task Manager or another graphical process killer.
