Net Nanny Description
Keeping children away from dangerous websites can be quite a chore, especially since there are so many threats on the Internet. Net Nanny is a complex program that was designed to help you apply parental control and filter the applications that are allowed to run.
The app has a simple interface that should be easy to figure out by all users.
The program was built to offer a collection of tools that enable parents to control the websites visited by their children, the time spent on the computer and the games they play.
The app can only be accessed with the main account, so no one else can make setting modifications unless they have the password. As mentioned, you can allow the kids to use the computer on a certain time interval only by selecting the hours and the days specifically. Although the time interval is available you can also limit this amount to a certain number of hours.
Also, it’s possible to filter the content categories that the children are allowed to have access to on the internet, such as “Adult/Matureâ€, “Alcoholâ€, “Gamblingâ€, “Hate/Violenceâ€, “Illegal Activitiesâ€, “Illegal Drugsâ€, “Intimate Apparel/Swimsuitsâ€, “Pornographyâ€, “Proxyâ€, “Social Networksâ€, “Tobacco†and “Weaponsâ€. It’s also possible to protect them of profanities.
While managing the type of games they can play, the program lets you select the maximum ESRB rating (Entertainment Software Rating Board) that the kids are allowed to play and even to block certain titles from their access.
All in all, Net Nanny is a small program that can be quite useful to have on the computer. Less experienced individuals shouldn’t have any troubles while working with this utility, thanks to its intuitive layout.
