NoClose Description
NoClose is a tiny and portable piece of software that enables you to deactivate the close button of any active window. It comes packed with just a few features that can be easily figured out by users.
Portability benefits
Since installation is not prerequisite, you can drop the executable file in any part of the hard disk and just click it to run.
It is also possible to move NoClose to a USB flash disk or other mass storage device, in order to run it on any PC effortlessly, without installing anything beforehand. Worth taking into account is that the Windows registry does not get updated with new entries.
Accessibility via the system tray
At startup, NoClose creates an icon in the system tray area and immediately becomes active. From this point on, all you have to do is trigger a hotkey for enabling and disabling the close button of the active window.
Easily configure settings
In addition, it is possible to create new rules by writing code (for advanced users), remap the hotkeys, disable close buttons on NoClose exit and enable on startup, as well as disable them on window creation.
Evaluation and conclusion
The tool does not put a strain on computer performance, since it requires low CPU and memory. We have not come across any unpleasant surprises throughout our evaluation, since it did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. All in all, NoClose serves its purpose.
