Notepad

Notepad is a free, lightweight and easy-to-use software utility that integrates a standard word processor, quite similar to Windows' Notepad.
It does not come packed with complex configuration settings, making it ideal for less experienced users, or situations when it is needed to write comments, notes or to-do lists on the go.
The installation procedure is rapid and does not require special input from the user. Once it is done, you can run the app to be welcomed by a regular window with a srtucture familiar the one of a common word processor.
Aside from typing text, you can copy it to the Clipboard, cut and paste it, enable word wrapping mode, change formatting attributes, as well as print the document or save it to a plain text format (TXT) for further evaluation and modifications. There are no other notable options provided by the application. For example, there is no search function integrated.
As expected, the software tool is very low-demanding when it comes to CPU and RAM, so it does not put a strain on computer performance. Since it can be minimized to the taskbar, it does not interrupt normal user activity either.
We have not come across any sorts of issues throughout our evaluation, as the app did not hang, crash or pop up any error dialogs. Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, even users with no kind of experience in computer software may seamlessly tinker with Notepad's options. No recent updated have been made, though.
