NuevoVista Description
Computer customization starts with the desktop background picture, and you can even set up your entire picture collection up for display. This can easily be achieved through the default Windows tools, but there are also third-party alternatives like NuevoVista, with more time options, and faster approach.
Can be used on the go
In case you need to work on more computers, but really want to keep the same set of wallpapers, you can bundle all images on a USB flash drive along with the application, because it requires no installation to run. This also means that system registries are not modified, thus not having to worry about affecting the stability of the target PC.
You might end up scratching your head for a while when running the application for the first time, because it directly goes to the system tray, without a notification to let you know it’s there. What’s more, left-clicking the icon has no effect, which contributes to the general confusion.
Can only read one image format
However, the application isn’t malfunctioning, and you simply need to press the right mouse button to bring up the main window. A compact panel shows up, where you can simply drop one or more photos to get them ready to become your new wallpaper. Unfortunately, the application can only read BMP files, which is a major disappointment, and inconvenience.
Needless to say that there are several behavior options, and these are easy to understand and manage. Placement is one aspect, with the possibility to set a custom location on your screen, in case you don’t want the picture tiled, centered, or stretched.
Unlike default Windows tools, the built-in timer lets you go as low as one second, for an animation-like effect, especially if pictures relate. Just so you don’t have to manually start it every time, a simple click makes the application automatically run with Windows.
A few last words
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that NuevoVista is a practical alternative to default methods of changing your wallpaper, especially because of the flexible time limit you can set. Unfortunately, file support has a major impact on overall practicality, which is a shame, considering everything else is neatly done.
