OCB Description
The OCB is a software utility that allows you to better assess the performances of your CPU, also known to people as benchmarking.
Benchmarking is the act of running a computer program or a set of programs in order to assess the relative performance of an object. This is usually done by running a number of tests and trials against it. In this case, the OCB utility tests your CPU by running three types of tests called Erathosthene, Traditional and Cryptography.
The interface of this CPU utility is extremely simple, with a design that reminds users of a time in which the only operating systems they could find were Windows ’98 and Windows ’95. Despite all this, the interface is really easy to use, having just a few buttons, three of which actually being links to the developer's page. You will also be able to find a button called ‘User Info’, where you will be able to add a nickname and details regarding your computer, such as type of motherboard, RAM and so on. And of course, there will be a button to actually help you do what you wanted to do in the first place, calculating your CPU performance.
After pressing the ‘Calculate’ button, it will take about five minutes for the software program to perform all the tests and then, the results will pop up. Here you will also have the option of sending your CPU results to the developers, but also delete them.
You should know that running other programs while performing your benchmark might influence the score that your CPU will get. Therefore, it might be a good idea for you to close any application that might consume a lot of resources.
All in all, OCB is a very useful CPU benchmark utility with a simple, yet intuitive interface, which makes the program suitable for any type of user.
