Personal Catalog Description

Chances are you want to keep an organized database of items, be them real or virtual. Needless to say that this process is a little more comfortable if done on a computer, and there are an abundance of applications to prove this. For instance, Personal Catalog is a highly customizable program which lets you create your own property fields.

Create your own property sets

A couple of things need to be stated first, and one of them is portability, thus letting you have it deployed on a thumb drive to always have your database at hand. On the other hand, you might want to make sure that your PC is fitted with .NET Framework, although it might already be there, because it’s usually found in the default set of features with modern Windows iterations.
You start off in a relatively dull interface, which can leave you scratching your head for a while. However, there’s nothing to turn you back, because it’s all up to you to create all property fields and fill them with corresponding data sets, depending on the types of items you want to include in your catalog.

Apply filters and easily look up items of interest

A creation window shows up when you want to add an item or property. The window doesn’t close, allowing you to add multiple items or properties, and only then return to the main window. Properties appear as column headers, as well as filter options, which can then be looked up by custom values, as well as sorted on the spot.
Just to make it easier to fill in dedicated item fields, properties can be picture, digit, string, list, boolean, or date. Various image formats are supported. Sadly, there’s not really a particular format to export to, or any groups to create. However, you can save and load different catalogs, and keep files in secure folders.

In conclusion

All in all, Personal Catalog might not seem like it’s ready to handle complex catalog tasks, but this is mostly because you need to create your own property sets for items. Various property types can be created, allowing for quite the flexibility in your work.
