Ping Terminal Description

Ping Terminal is an advanced networking tool that you can use to send the ping command to a host in LAN to test the connectivity strength between the two machines.
It's handy when preparing for a video game LAN party, for instance. The program also supports traceroute and shows a history graph in addition to statistics.

Portable utility with a simple interface

It's packed in a single .exe file that can be saved anywhere on the disk or on a removable storage unit, in order to seamlessly launch Ping Terminal on any computer without previous setup. It doesn't add new entries to the Windows registry, need DLLs to run, or create files on the disk without your permission.
When it comes to the interface, the application adopts a large window with a clear-cut structure, where you can enter the host name or IP address to ping, as well as instruct the tool to resolve the address to the hostname and to run traceroute.

Run ping and traceroute

The time to live (TTL), packet length, ping interval and diagram scale may also be set before launching the scan. The host in question is continuously pinged until you abort the task, after which you can find out the sent, received and total transferred packets, along with the minimal and maximal RTT.

View statistics and configure settings

It's possible to clear history, save ping or trace history to file (TXT format), select the preferred type of service (TOS) between high throughput, high reliability and low delay (or disable it), prevent fragmentation, as well as customize trace settings regarding the hop count, ping per host, timeout, and host address resolver.
The graph may also be customized when it comes to the font and colors for the background and foreground diagram, ping and trace window background, and text.

Conclusion

To sum it up, Ping Terminal is a resourceful network utility for pinging and tracing local hosts, backed by advanced configuration settings. CPU and RAM usage was low in our tests. However, it hasn't received updates for a long time.
