Ping Timer Description

Ping Timer is a simple-to-use application designed to measure time when sending ping commands to any IP address or website's URL. It's practical for testing the connectivity strength between your local PC and a remote one, as well as for testing network cables and wireless routers without having to resort to elaborate software applications.

Requires .NET Framework and has a rudimentary look

The program gets installed fast and with minimum effort on your behalf. Just make sure to download and install .NET Framework if you don't already have it, since the tool was developed using Microsoft's software framework.
As far as the interface goes, Ping Timer opts for a simple .NET Framework form and doesn't put emphasis on appearance, sticking to a rudimentary look and preferring to focus on functionality.

Ping a local or public IP address or URL

In the empty box, you can type or paste the local or public IP address of another computer, or the URL of a website (without adding http://). After clicking the Ping button, the application sends the ping command right away and displays the elapsed time to give you an idea of the delay between the two machines.
However, there are no other options implemented by the developer. When entering an unsupported string of characters in the IP box and clicking the ping button, an error dialog pops up.

Basic ping tool with insufficient features

Unfortunately, Ping Timer fails to impress when it comes to simplicity. To measure the time between two ping commands and figure out whether the signal has improved or decreased, it's necessary to click the ping command for each event and to write down the elapsed time on a sheet of paper or type it in a text editor, because the application isn't equipped with features to autosend multiple pings and record the elapsed time to a window or file.
The software project hasn't received updates for a long time and it's no longer in development. Nevertheless, you can still use Ping Timer for testing purposes.
