Port Listener XP Description
Port Listener XP is a simple application that opens fake ports in attempt to prevent unauthorized users from accessing your data via network.
The interface is based on a small window with a plain layout. Unfortunately, it is not possible to resize it.
You can set up a port range by loading custom lists from the computer, as long as they have the TXT format.
Initializing the task is done with the simple click of a button. You can view the number of attacks and send back a message to the third party on connection attempts.
In addition, you may set Port Listener XP to automatically run at system startup, as well as customize colors and establish a warning time interval for the low, medium and high warning levels. Log details show the IP address, port number, date and time stamps.
Port Listener XP has minimal impact on system performance, using low CPU and RAM. It doesn't interrupt user activity, as it minimizes to the system tray area on exit. We have not come across any issues throughout our evaluation, since Port Listener XP did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. However, it has not been updated for a very long time, and it is not compatible with newer operating systems.
