As the name implies, Port Scanner Software is a piece of kit that enables you to scan ports, in order to find out which are open and which are closed.
It is backed by a useful set of options that can be configured by anyone, even users with little experience in networking tools.
After a brief and uneventful setup procedure that does not require special attention from the user, you are greeted by a standard window with a plain and simple structure, where you can manually input IP addresses to add them to the list one at a time, or load multiple entries from a plain text document.
As far as settings are concerned, it is possible to point out the port range, number of scans before pausing, along with pause between scans (in milliseconds).
Initializing the scanning operation is done with the click of a button. Results show open hosts and ports, along with possible registered ports or Trojans/backdoors. There are no other notable features available through this program.
Port Scanner Software has minimal impact on system performance, as it uses low CPU and RAM. It has a good response time and finishes scanning ports rapidly. We have not come across any problems throughout our evaluation, since the tool did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Thanks to its intuitive layout and options, all types of users should be able to work with Port Scanner Software.
