Portable Magic Photo Recovery

Portable Magic Photo Recovery is a comprehensive application, optimized for photo recovery. The tool can retrieve images from local disks, well as from removable media, disk images or from deleted partitions. Moreover, the application offers several options for saving the files after recovering them.

Select the recovery source

The first screen in Portable Magic Photo Recovery is dedicated to selecting the location you wish to analyze for lost or damaged files. Thus, the program can easily scan local disks and removable flash drives, which are all detected and displayed in the interface. Alternatively, you can recover pictures from deleted partitions.
The program can identify the lost partitions on the selected disk and supports analyzing FAT12, FAT16, FAT32 or NTFS file systems. The algorithm can be used to scan the entire disk or only the selected sectors.
Alternatively, in case of disaster, system corruption or virus attack, you may use a previously created disk image, which still contains the initial files. If such image exists, the program allows you to mount it and use it to extract the desired pictures.

Scanning types and file filtering

Portable Magic Photo Recovery supports two types of drive assessment, namely the Fast scan, a solution to restoring recently deleted files and the full analysis. The latter is a powerful option, designed to search for any available information and restore any relevant files.
For a quicker processes, you can create file filters and restore only those images that fit the required size, date (of creation / modification / last access) and type. The program recognizes a multitude of file formats, including vectors, compressed images, workspaces (.PSD, .PSP), Targa graphics and RAW types.

Preview and save items

Portable Magic Photo Recovery can display thumbnails of the files, as the process of retrieving them is on-going. It also offers a more detailed preview when the scan is finished and you may select the files you wish to save. The results can be exported on the hard disk, sent to a CD/DVD, included in an ISO virtual image or uploaded to a remote location via FTP connection.
