Portable RegistryReport Description
Portable RegistryReport is an advanced software utility that gathers information about your registry and lets you analyze a wide range of aspects, such as installed software, or user activity and settings.
Portability benefits
You can drop the program files anywhere on the HDD or on a pen drive, and simply click the .exe to run Portable RegistryReport on any PC to study its registry. Unlike most installers, it doesn't add new entries there.
Plain-looking GUI with advanced options
The user-friendly interface doesn't seem that advanced. However, it sports comprehensive settings under its hood.
You can open the SYSTEM, SOFTWARE, SAM or NTUSER.DAT registry data from file or folder, as well as edit your profile when it comes to general properties and modules.
Customize registry settings and generate reports
It's possible to enter a profile name and set the report separator, length, indent and colors, as well as customize the modules to take into account for processing, such as operating system, country settings, environment variables, autorun, Windows updates, objects, streams, devices, network, printer, users and user groups, and services.
The tool enables you to fiddle with multiple properties for each module. For example, you can include browser helper objects in the autorun apps section, installation information, IDE, USB, SCSI and PCI devices, network cards, connections and shares, Internet Explorer settings, recently opened keys in RegEdit, paths to app installers and uninstallers, together with the service name and start type.
Once the reports are made, you can print or save them as RTF or TXT files. Plus, you can use a basic search function.
Evaluation and conclusion
There were no kinds of issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that the program didn't freeze, crash or prompt error messages. CPU and RAM consumption was minimal while reports were swiftly generated.
To sum it up, Portable RegistryReport provides you with comprehensive means of generating detailed reports about your registry, and it's mostly geared toward advanced users.
