Simple application for viewing BPG images

This Pyhton-based application is built for the purpose of opening exclusively BPG images, a new file format designed for powerful compression. The BPG file type inherits the graphic capabilities of JPEG and several other properties, however, its major feature is its power of compressing the files, while maintaining the visual quality.
The BPG file type supports several chroma formats, RGB, CMYK, YCgCo color spaces, higher level of bits per channel for high dynamic range and various metadata. BPG format is also compatible with both lossy and lossless compression.

View and manage images with a simple program

Portable Simple BPG Image viewer allows you to easily open any BPG picture and supports cyclic rendering of all the images in the same directory. The program features several tools that allow you to rotate, zoom in/out, pan or resize the currently opened picture.
However, it does not offer GUI support for these functions, instead, the F1 help menu displays a list of the commands and their description.
You may easily toggle the full screen mode and use mouse dragging motions to pan over the zoomed in image. Moreover, you can rotate the pictures by 90 degrees in either direction, then save a copy of the current view of the image, in BPG or PNG format.

A simple viewer for a new type of image

Portable Simple BPG Image viewer allows you to open and handle high quality pictures, in the BPG format. The main advantage of this type of file is its reduced size: for example the same picture is 190 KB in BPG and 1.76 MB in PNG format. Moreover, the program does not require installation.
