Post Haste

Post Haste is a lightweight software application whose purpose is to help you organize and simplify your creative workflows by lining up and classifying your assets. The tool allows you to create customized folder structures for each project and make use of various templates or create new ones on your own.

Unadorned GUI

The program adopts clean and simple looks that give you the possibility to switch between two key features, namely New project and Templates. The dedicated parameters are self-explanatory so getting familiarized with the GUI shouldn’t take much of your time.

Editing and creating templates

Post Haste integrates several templates that you can use in your projects, more specifically Motion Graphics, Photography, Video Editing, Visual Effects and Web Design. With just one click on the target template, you can check out its contents and browse throughout its folders and files just as if you were working with Windows Explorer.
The application gives you the possibility to edit each template according to your preferences or build a new one from scratch by providing a name. In addition, you can remove templates from the list, duplicate the selected one, set a template as the default one, as well as open the directory where the current template is stored.
Each template can be personalized by adding new folders with custom names, inserting RTF or plain text documents, importing files from your computer, and copying the structure of a folder from your computer.

Modifying parameters

Post Haste comes with a predefined set of parameters for helping you define a project, namely project number, client, project name, date and editor. Plus, you can manually add custom parameters to the list.

Configuration settings

You are allowed to select the saving directory for storing templates, automatically open the folder after creating a project, close the utility after creating a project, and show a list with recent projects.
Furthermore, the tool lets you choose the target location where projects are saved, set up file naming rules, rename files called ‘Template’ to the project name, pick the date format, and enter the separator character.

An efficient project manager tool

All in all, Post Haste makes a tedious task such as project management seem nothing but a child’s play. It implements an essential feature pack and can be used by beginners and professionals alike. The GUI needs some extra polishing here and there and a template sharing option may also prove to be a viable implementation, so as to be able to view how other people organize their files.
