Process Controller Description
Keeping track of the activity of each process that uses your system's resources may seem a simple job, especially if you are well familiarized with the 'Task Manager' in Windows. Nonetheless, for those who seek to get a bit more, there are some utilities that can be employed and Process Controller is one of them.
This particular tool will stay out of the way at all times, running minimized in the system tray, but as soon as you right-click its icon you will be able to access a lot of information. Monitoring closely each running process and its threads, this application brings you lots of data in a form that may not be so easy to assimilate and handle, at least at first sight.
There are several categories in which the information Process Controller can provide is structured in and all you have to do is point the mouse cursor at each group to view it. The first and most easy to understand and use, for novice users at least, is the menu that allows you to close a running program.
In case you want to have a certain software to receive a higher or a lower priority, you can access the 'Handles and Process Priority' menu. In there, guiding yourself by the name or process identifier (PID) you should be able to identify easily the desired item and set its status anywhere from 'Idle' to 'Real time' (the highest degree of precedence).
If you want to glance at the details related to a certain process, you can select it from the 'Process Information and Memory Usage' section. You will get a small window with all the available data for that item, so you can inspect and manage its executable, threads, windows and more.
To sum things up, Process Controller can be a helpful tool, even if the usage may be a bit cumbersome. There are surely other utilities better equipped for the job, but this one deserves a peek as well.
