Process Killer

Process Killer is a feather-light and portable application you can schedule to terminate other running processes automatically. This is useful for killing the programs you don't require, which start automatically and periodically, and which needlessly burden the performance of your computer.

Doesn't require installation

The downloaded pack is based on just one file, which can be saved to an external storage device to directly run the tool on any computer without setup.
Just make sure the device isn't write-protected because Process Killer automatically creates and updates two files with the process list and your configuration settings. No new entries are added to the system registry, and no other files are created on the disk without your consent.

Runs in the systray

The tool gets integrated into the taskbar notifications section at startup and postpones its activity when its configuration panel is in focus. By default, it's set to autorun every time you turn on your computer, and this option can be disabled. Moreover, it can show notifications when killing a process.

Auto-terminates running processes

The list of processes can be populated with new entries by writing their names exactly as they appear in Task Manager. Unfortunately, the tool doesn't come equipped with options to indicate a program's executable via the file browser.
It's possible to add as many processes as you want to the list, as well as to specify the killing frequency in seconds. All changes can be applied immediately, after which the tool becomes active and runs from the systray.

Evaluation and conclusion

We didn't find any problems in our tests. Process Killer didn't hang, crash or indicate errors, remaining stable throughout its runtime. It used minimum system resources, so it didn't hamper the computer's performance. The app is easy to use by anyone interested in terminating processes automatically.
