ProEject

ProEject is a software tool whose purpose is to aid people in dismounting removable drives faster, by closing running apps and opened windows, as well as in cleaning the registry and device.

The upper hand of a portable app

The installation process can be bypassed, as this product is portable. This means that it does not add any new entries in the Windows registry without your prior approval.
Another aspect you should keep in mind is that it is possible to run ProEject on any computer you are granted access to, by simply copying the program files to a USB pen drive.

Clean a partition, eject USB pen drives and bring up properties

This utility displays in the main window all your partitions and other connected devices, as well as a few buttons to let you access other options. By right-clicking on one of the aforementioned drive icons, you bring up a small context menu which enables you to clean a partition or device, close a portable storage unit’s connection or eject it altogether.
It is possible to open items and bring up properties such as label, serial, drive type, file system and free space. All this information can be copied to the Clipboard so that you can use it in another project, with just a click of the button.

Configurable options at your fingertips

From the settings panel it is possible to enable or disable options, including cleaning registry and folders, ejecting the specified device, writing the specified drive, displaying messages throughout ejection and cleaning the Temp folder.
You can also input a delay time, change the GUI language, choose what double-clicking an icon does, create detailed logs of all actions and create an exclusion list.

A last evaluation

The computer’s performance is not going to be hindered as CPU and memory usage is low at all times. The response time is good and the interface is more than intuitive.
Overall, it is safe to say that ProEject is a pretty useful piece of software when it comes to safely removing USB thumb drives or cleaning them, without hanging, crashing or freezing in our tests.
