RapidCRC Unicode Description
RapidCRC Unicode is a software application that provides users with a simple means of calculating multiple types of hash algorithms, including CRC and MD5, for any specified item.
Surprise-free setup and straightforward UI
The installation process you are required to go through runs smooth and it is over in a jiffy, while the interface you are greeted by presents a design which can only be described as minimal. It only comprises several buttons, a progress bar and a pane in which to view uploaded items.
Although no Help contents are provided, both power and novice users can easily learn how to handle it. If you are interested in skipping the setup process, you can try the portable edition, called Portable RapidCRC Unicode.
Types of hashes you can calculate and settings to tweak
This software tool enables you to generate SFV, MD5 and SHA1, SHA256 and SHA 512 checksums for any kind of file, with a minimal amount of time. You can easily select an item with the integrated file browser.
In addition to that, you can place the CRC into file names, as well as into NTFS streams, establish a priority level and copy a checksum to the Clipboard so that you can further use it.
From the settings panel, you can sort items on load according to name, enable job queuing, create Unicode files, allow CRC without delimiters, exclude particular extensions and restore all parameters to defaults.
Conclusion and performance
RapidCRC Unicode does not affect the system’s performance in any way, as the CPU and memory usage is minimal at all times. All jobs are completed in a timely manner and we did not detect any errors or crashes. The interface is accessible to all users, yet the most experienced ones will get more mileage out of it.
