Record Converter Description
Record Converter is a straightforward software application designed to help you convert CSV files to BIX-pp format, and vice versa.
It doesn't include complicated options or customization preferences, making it accessible not only to experienced users, but also those who've barely used conversion tools.
Old tool with compatibility issues
Before proceeding any further, you should know that Record Converter hasn't been updated for a long time and has some compatibility issues. To be able to install it, you must have an older edition of .NET Framework, since it doesn't work with newer ones. Other than that, setup takes minimal and effort.
Simple interface and options
As far as the interface is concerned, Record Converter adopts a small window with a plain and simple structure that shows all options put at your disposal.
After selecting the conversion mode between CSV to BIX-pp or BIX-pp to CSV, you can indicate the source file along with the directory and name of the new file, and the let the utility handle the rest.
This task shouldn't take long, after which you can open the new file to inspect results by comparing it with the source. Apart from the fact that you can consult a help manual, there are no other notable settings available.
Evaluation and conclusion
The app carried out conversion jobs swiftly in our tests while remaining light on system resources consumption, thanks to the fact that it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to work properly. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash.
On the other hand, it has only a handful of settings. For example, it doesn't support batch processing, so you can convert only one file at a time. Nevertheless, you can test it for yourself, since it's freeware.
