Reg Clean Description
Most applications which rely on system configuration options add custom registry entries. When removed, traces are left behind, and a messy registry system can have a considerable impact on stability and performance. In this regard, Reg Clean wants to help you identify invalid registry entries and remove them from your PC.
Manually back up registry entries first
One of the application’s main advantages is portability, thus saving you the time and effort required to go through a setup process. As such, you can safely store it on a USB flash drive to be carried around in case you want to perform a clean operation on other computers besides your own.
Note that it’s best to run the application with administrator privileges so it can perfectly read and handle all target entries according to your actions. Moreover, there’s no default option to create a backup of the entire system, and it’s advisable you create one yourself just in case unexpected events occur to prevent damaging your computer.
Fast detection, easy selection, and instant removal
The scan process doesn’t start until you put it in motion. Unfortunately, there’s no possibility to select custom hives to be scanned, and the application goes through all entries. Results are shown in real time as detected, and you can also stop the process if you consider you identified a troublesome entry.
With the scan operation finished or stopped, selecting an item shows its full path, last modification date, string value, and file path. In fact, these are also the column headers by which the list is defined, but you can’t sort according to them. No item is selected by default, and there’s no option to select all of them. You need to manually pick entries you want to remove, operation which is done at the press of a button.
In conclusion
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Reg Clean is a straightforward application you can use to forcefully find and remove invalid entries. It’s best to manually create a backup of the entire system to prevent any accidents. Portability, and the intuitive design are sure to make it worth your while.
