Reminder Description
Managing your daily activities might be a little frustrating, but it’s sure to have a positive effect in the end. This doesn’t necessarily have to involve complex tools or activities, and chances are simple reminders every now and then get the job done. In this regard, Reminder comes with a simple set of features to display a message at a configured time.
Can be used on the go
One of the application’s main advantages is the lack of an installer. This enables you to have a personal alarm clock on a thumb drive in case your activities involve working on multiple computers. It can run without making any changes to system registry entries, so the health status of the target PC remains intact.
Note that the application stopped receiving any updates some time ago, and there’s a high chance it needs to be launched under compatibility settings on modern Windows iterations. As such, there isn’t a major inconvenience, because you can easily benefit from all it has to offer with minor tweaks.
Run more instances for different alarms
It minimizes to the tray area on launch, but the configuration panel shows up on the desktop so you can configure your first alarm. This is easily done by specifying the exact date you can pick from a built-in calendar, the hour, as well as a custom message you insert in a dedicated field. Hitting the “set reminder†button arms the alarm and minimizes the window.
Alerts only come in the form of a pop-up message shown on the desktop, with no possibility to set audio alerts as well. What’s more, only one reminder can be set, but you can run multiple instances of the application to bypass this inconvenience. Additionally, assigning a hotkey command to its shortcut enables you to launch it regardless of location.
To end with
All things considered, we can state that Reminder might feel a little rough around the edges, both in terms of visuals and flexibility in alarm configuration, but it does the job as expected. It can easily be carried around, and multiple alerts can be set up by running more instances of the program.
