Acme ltd (fictitious) is a SME with approx 50 employees, 10 of which work in accounts. The company is using Sage 50 accounts with sagedrive. The software is configured to backup every three hours, however it doesnt tell you if the backup contains errors / warnings you have to login as manager and check the backup history, not necessary with Sabre installed. Under pressure, our stressed out accounts manager doesnt always have time to check! Only at the end of the day do they realise there are errors / warnings. Worst case scenario, The data cannot be repaired we must restore from backup, the only error free backup is 24 hours old. What options are available? Unfortunately only one, restore and then reenter all the missing transactions. In a busy office we could be looking at a sizeable number and considerable expense. Employees still have to be paid.
