Scientific Calculator Description
Scientific Calculator is a simple-to-use application developed in Adobe Air which facilitates an advanced calculator for those who study math, physics and others sciences involving trigonometric functions. It doesn't contain complicated options or configuration settings, making it suitable for all PC users.
Setup, prerequisites, and interface
Because it was built in Adobe Air, you must have this platform installed in order to install and run the program. The setup operation is speedy and simple, common among most Adobe Air tools.
When it comes to the interface, Scientific Calculator opts for a rectangular window with an embedded calculator, enabling you to type numerical values in the dedicated field as well as click buttons to appeal to the special functions.
Easily use trigonometric functions
The utility offers support for sine, cosine and tangent, hyperbolic sine, cosine and tangent, inverse sine, cosine and tangent, inverse hyberbolic sine, cosine and tangent, exponential, common and natural logarithm, and square root functions, along with the pi and e constants.
Calculations can be made in degrees, radians or gradients. Unfortunately, the app doesn't implement options for exporting data to file and it cannot remember numbers. However, you can select the string of characters and copy it to the Clipboard by using the global hotkey or by opening the right-click menu.
Evaluation and conclusion
We haven't experienced any stability issues in our tests, since it didn't freeze, crash or indicate errors. It used a low amount of CPU and memory, so it didn't hamper system performance. Although it hasn't been updated for a long time, it worked smoothly on newer Windows models in our case.
To sum it up, Scientific Calculator comes packed with practical options to help you perform trigonometric calculations, and it can be easily used. Plus, it's freeware.
