SFX Maker

SFX Maker is a useful program that lets you create self-extracting ZIP files from standard ZIP archives. This way, you can access archived items on any computer, without the need of specialized tools.
The utility is wrapped in a standard interface with a wizard-like layout, where you can point out to a ZIP file by using only the file browser, since "drag and drop" is unsupported.
An important feature of SFX Maker is that it gives you the possibility of creating regular ZIP archives with files, in order to turn them into SFX.
You can edit the window caption, display the ZIP comment on startup if it's available, hide the file list of archive contents, show a progress bar indicator, as well as display customizable startup messages.
Furthermore, you can establish the default extraction path, overwrite existing files, allow the extraction of individual files, run a command line after the extraction, as well as save SFX settings for future projects, among others.
SFX Maker offers multilingual support, has a good response time and carries out tasks rapidly. No error dialogs have been shown in our tests and the app did not hang or crash. Thanks to its intuitive layout yet advanced settings, SFX Maker should please the entire audience. Too bad it has not been updated for a very long time.
