SLC MediaPlayer is a very basic multimedia app that can play music and render videos for your enjoyment. It can handle MP3 and AVI formats, along with other popular ones.

A player that is as simple as they get

The subtitle refers both to the graphic user interface and the features it provides. From a GUI standpoint, SLC MediaPlayer is very simple in design and rather poor in quality. Some of the buttons look pixelated while some sections of the player seem a bit roughly cut.
SLC MediaPlayer is comprised from two windows, one that holds playback buttons and the playlist, and another in which you get to watch the loaded video. As far as controls go, you get the classic play, pause, stop, forward, rewind and volume up or down.

Basic features for basic use

The playlist allows you to view what files you have loaded and can be toggled on or off with a click of a button. To add songs and movies you can use Windows Explorer or you can simply drag and drop the files into the playlist.
A thing that’s rather inconvenient is that the playlist displays not just the track name but its location on your hard drive as well. If the file path is too long you’ll have to scroll sideways to see what’s in the playlist. Moreover, you can’t even resize it.

Play songs and watch videos with ease

To sum things up, SLC MediaPlayer doesn’t excel in features or looks but it does offer a somewhat practical solution for basic multimedia playback which works fine and doesn’t hog system resources.
