Slicing Cones, Cylinders, and Spheres Description
When it comes to working with geometrical objects, the Internet offers lots of alternatives that you can choose from. One of them is Slicing Cones, Cylinders, and Spheres.
It's a simulation tools that helps you generate cross-sections in multiple 3D objects. You can adjust all sort of elements for your cones, cylinders and spheres.
Simple and intuitive graphical interface
The application installs quickly and it sports a really intuitive and clean graphical interface with multiple tools and features at hand. It doesn't come with any customization options, but you wouldn't really need them since it sports a really fluent layout.
It comes with a detailed help menu, filled with all sort of tips and instructions that you could use in order to get accustomed to the application and it's features.
Slice all sort of geometrical objects
The program allows you to dynamically manipulate a plane slicing a double cone and view the corresponding conic section. Conic sections are defined as the intersection of a plane and a right circular double cone.
The program allows for the manipulation of the position of the plane, simply drag the tilt slider in order to do so. You can view the double cone in order to examine the resultant intersection. The tilt angle is determined by the angle formed between the xy-plane and the shaded plane shown.
Additional features and tools
You can adjust the vertical translation of the plane that cuts across the double-cone and view the frame of the double cone instead of the shaded surface. It also allows you to view labels of the type of conic section shown on both the 3D View and the Standard View. You can adjust the size of the double cone in the 3D View.
All in all, Slicing Cones, Cylinders, and Spheres is a useful software solution that helps you generate cross-sections in various 3D objects, you can copy data to clipboard, save on your computer or print easily.
