We live in a world in which multimedia is no longer a simple means of entertainment, but also a professional career. An abundance of tools can help process the different multimedia types of content. One suitable example is Soundboard, allowing you to play sound files at the press of a button for real-time mixing.

Up to 18 audio slots to use

One cool advantage here is that it saves you the time and effort required to get it deployed on your computer. As such, you can see what it can do for you as soon as download is done, and also store it along with sample audio files on a USB flash drive to use it where necessary. Registry entries are not altered in the process, so the target PC’s health status remain intact.
You’re put up against 18 different audio slots to use. There aren’t any preset sounds the application comes with, so you need to take the time to define them. Unfortunately, the application can only work with WAV files, and loading them can take some time, because drag and drop is not supported as a method of input.

Create custom sound schemes

You don’t have to use all slots, but only those which are necessary. When a template is complete, it can be saved to file as a scheme, which can then be quickly accessed from the dedicated menu. You can also toggle the view state to change the color layout to make the application suit your style.
By default, the application pauses a playing sound when you trigger a new one. Luckily, this behavior can be changed, either to leave them play along, especially since there’s a volume slider for each slot.

On an ending note

Taking everything into consideration, we can state that Soundboard is a pretty lightweight tool on its own, but with the right audio files it’s sure to come in handy for real-time mixing. Various schemes can be created and saved, but it would have been useful to see better file support.
