SSL Diagnostics Description
SSL Diagnostics is a straightforward and simple-to-use piece of software that lets you run a diagnostics on your IIS servers to help you configure and troubleshoot websites with support for SSL. It does not come loaded with complex options or configuration parameters, but it's dedicated to advanced PC users.
Rapid setup and simple GUI
The installation procedure is a fast and easy job that requires minimal user attention. As far as the interface goes, SSL Diagnostics opts for a normal window with a plain and simple structure, where the system scan is immediately performed at startup.
View and examine system diagnostics
Technical information is displayed, so you can study the system time, IIS module file name and command line, processor architecture type, Windows and IIS version, metabase, and other data.
You should keep in mind that the app might not be able to retrieve all this information, though, probably due to the fact that it has not been updated for a long time and it likely has compatibility issues with later Windows editions.
It is possible to export these details to an external file with the .log or .txt format, simulate an SSL handshake, create a self-signed certificate and assign it to a website or restore the original one, impersonate the server account to get more accurate diagnostics results, as well as open the IIS Manager.
Evaluation and conclusion
The program did not put a strain on computer performance in our tests, since it consumed a low amount of CPU and memory. It has good response time and quickly carries out a system scan task.
However, it was not able to retrieve all technical details in our case. As we previously said, the tool hasn't been updated for a while, and it probably has compatibility issues with recent OS. It might work well on older Windows, though, so you can give it a shot.
