Stop Watch Description
Stop Watch is a lightweight and portable software utility that can monitor elapsed time from its last startup. It features several practical options made for users who want to learn more information about Internet connection time, programs runtime, and others.
Simple interface with advanced options
When it comes to the GUI, Stop Watch adopts a standard window with a clear-cut structure, where you can view the current time and date, along with the elapsed time in seconds, minutes and hours, as well as long time format.
Details can be logged to a file on the disk, so you can later examine them after leaving the computer unattended. Moreover, you can copy the elapsed time to the Clipboard, make the window stay on top of other running processes, and ask the tool to automatically run at every Windows startup until further notice. Settings can be restored to default.
Portable application
It's packed in a single .exe file that you can save to a preferred directory on the disk or copy to a removable storage unit to be able to seamlessly launch it on any PC without setup.
It doesn't add new entries to the system registry or need DLLs or other components to work properly. However, it auto-creates and updates an .ini file to remember you settings on exit.
Evaluation and conclusion
Unfortunately, the tool hasn't been updated for a long time and this is probably why we've experienced compatibility issues on newer Windows in our tests. It prompted an error every time we attempted to reset the timer.
Otherwise, CPU and RAM consumption was minimal, so it didn't hamper the computer's performance. Nevertheless, Stop Watch comes bundled with some handy settings for monitoring time and recording details to log files. It can be easily used.
